Wanted to write really quick about something very, very cool I just found out about.
I’m sure you’ve heard of The Secret by now and The Law of Attraction. (If not, go look them up in amazon and get the movie and/or the book.) Not to be too new-agey, but the concept is that our sub-conscious mind is very powerful and connected intimately to the universe, which I absolutely believe. (I mean, does anyone really think we are using all of our capacity as human beings now?)
Furthermore, if we visualize and focus on the things that we want, if we do it deeply enough and with enough belief, we can start the process (via our sub-conscious mind’s connection to the universe) of getting want it is we desire. There’s alot more to it than what I describe here (including some replicatable scientific experiments) and this isn’t like getting 3 magic wishes from a genie or anything, but there is absolutely something here. We just don’t know exactly how it works yet.
Anyway, the common method of writing and repeating affirmations is the way that many people are taught to start this process. But now, using technology, we have an even better, more efficient way of reaching the universe: it sounds crazy, but using video and Youtube!
By using video images, music, pictures, and adding in our own text, we can make a "mind movie" or kind of a dream-board in motion. If you know how to use powerpoint you can do this pretty quickly for yourself. Here is what I did to make my own (in about 1.5 to 2 hours, I can make one for you if you’d like):
-Searched in google images for some cool pictures that I would normally put on a dream (or vision) board
-put them into powerpoint. Had them move around a bit, and added some text.
-Camtasia’d the powerpoint as I played it, then through it up on youtube.
(Note, I didn’t add music but could have pretty easily. I just play whatever song I feel like hearing while I watch my mind-movie. Didn’t get too carried away with integrating the music and pictures, though you certainly could.)
