Chapter 2: Getting Traffic to Your Website

Section 5: Set Up an E-zine Ad and "scale up" your PPC efforts

An e-zine is simply an "electronic" magazine, or really just a subscription to an e-mail series. This is basically an extension of the autoresponder series concept we learned about before. The only difference here is that the target market is possibly even more finely tuned, and is generally sent out at exact intervals (weekly, bi-monthly, monthly).

Some e-zines sell advertising space in their "issues", and some do not. There is also a wide range of number of subscribers, and consequently a wide range in ad prices. What you will want to do is locate appropriately targeted e-zines that have paid advertising, and buy an ad that will either be shown individually or be the top ad displayed. (Although being lower on the lists of ads shown will be less expensive, it also is generally not worth it to advertise there.)

The ad that you will be using will basically be the exact same google adwords ad that is giving you the best results, slightly modified if you need to. What you’ve done is to use Google to do market research, and craft and evolve an effective ad. At that point, you may have also added Yahoo and MSN paid searches to expand your market reach, but then, you reached a ceiling in terms of the number of people that you could reach. Now with e-zine ads, you are extending your market reach, displaying your PROVEN ad to hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands of interested people instantly! This will cost generally a hundred to a few hundred dollars, but will be more than worth it if you have a proven ad and an appropriately targeted e-zine audience.

A listing or directory of e-zines to advertise in can be found at these sites:

You should generally be using such an ad to:
1. promote an MLM-related affiliate product that will help you generate leads for free or even at a profit
2. Promote your own MLM-related product
3. Promote your website, which includes MLM-related info and training, related affiliate products, your own info product, and then your MLM itself as a back-end. (All of that is discussed in my "Funded Proposal" section.)
4. You should generally NOT be promoting your MLM directly. This is generally not effective. See the section on funded proposals.

Now that you are effectively using PPC campaigns, and have scaled up successfully to e-zine ads, lets take a look at SEO: search engine optimization - how to get free leads from search engines.
