Learn To Use Video Properly

Chapter 2: Getting Traffic to Your Website

Section 11: Learn to Use Video Properly

As I mentioned, properly using video can absolutely transform your business. You can suck in targeted visitors more quickly than any other method, and at the same time connect with them more deeply than any other method.

When using video, however, I recommend you do two things if you have the budget for it. First off, I recommend you buy FLVProducer in order to more professionally present video on your site. It is easy to use this to convert video to the necessary format, and comes with a number of different ways to display a viewing screen on your site. Videos shown this way will play quickly as well, and you won’t be left with the disadvantage of showing other related videos after yours is done playing (which is what will happen if you use youtube to display videos.) This is what I use to show videos on my site. The main advantage with youtube though is that it is free to use.

Even if you do use FLVProducer, though, you should absolutely still post another version of your videos to youtube, for all of the traffic that it can bring in. The thing you MUST do here though is add in a subtitle to your video that will display your website URL. Otherwise, the people that find your video in youtube won’t be able to find you!

Using FLVProducer is very easy, I go over that here.

And, adding in subtitles with FLVProducer, to make your video youtube friendly, is very easy as well. I show how to do that in the video on this page.

Believe it or not, youtube isn’t the only video displaying site on the web. You should also submit your videos to www.trafficgeyser.com and these other sites as well.

When posting your videos, make sure that you use titles and descriptions properly by including your keywords and related phrases. Having a friend comment with appropriate text too will help as well.

Treat your videos just like your article campaign: each one should have a couple target keywords, that are used in the title, description, and comments, and point back to a specific webpage with an optin form and that continues the theme of the video.

Also, your videos can tie in to social networking sites when appropriate. One final way to use them, and this is getting a little out there and at the very frontier of things, is with Google Lively. Lively is a 3 dimensional alternate reality space that Google is just starting. You can create rooms in this space, and meet with friends there and chat. But, you can also add screens onto the walls of rooms there, and play videos in youtube there. So, what you can actually do is create an MLM training "house", and put some of your videos on the walls of the house. I can’t imagine many people using it this way just yet, but in the not too distant future I could see this as a really cool way to do webinars and things like that.

Now that you can add the power of video to your site and your traffic generating methods, and I think you should absolutely use video as much as you possibly can, let’s talk about the various social media networks and how you can use them in appropriate ways to generate links and visitors to your website…
