Information Management in 3 easy steps

If you are like me, you probably get 20 e-mails a day (not counting spam) from people that you do want to hear from, different e-mails that you’ve signed up for. But, they quickly drift away in a flood of new e-mails, and you may or may not get back to them.

I have a few strategies to deal with information-overload that you might find useful. Here they are:

1. Organize your e-mail inbox into folders. I have folders for "internet marketing", "network marketing", and "personal", as well as a few more specific to my businesses. Depending on who it is from, it will go into the appropriate folder.

2. Get an RSS reader, and add in all your favorite blogs. Then, you just pop open your reader and you instantly see all the new posts. I use igoogle, and just have that set to my homepage. It’s pretty cool. I’ll be posting a video on how to do that in the next day or two at my site www.theonlinemlmblueprint.com

3. Get on twitter. If you haven’t signed up yet, go to www.twitter.com and get an account. What I do is just follow a few close friends and some top marketers. That way, I can "eavesdrop" on their conversations, keep up with friends, and I can do that really quick and efficiently. FYI, my username is MikeRutkowski, add me as a friend and check out the small group I’m following. You can add whoever you are interested in. Then, e-mail me your twitter name so I can add you.
