Comment Policy
Here’s the scoop on our comment policy: follow the golden rule.
Thou shall ADD VALUE when commenting.
Please don’t write something empty like "great post" or "great idea Mike, you are awesome and I love you" just to get a link to your site. You can certainly write stuff like that, just add more meaningful stuff to it. If I say something you disagree with, let me know that too, but let me know why. If you like the post, tell me why and how it helped you. If you know of something related that would benefit everyone, let us all know about that, certainly. If you have a question, ask away. I LOVE questions.
The other rules:
1. You can put some keywords in your name if you’d like (that will be the anchor text), but don’t do that all the time. The name is limited to 22 characters.
2. Spammy comments will not be approved, so don’t do it please!
3. Once you have posted 3 comments your links back to your site will be set to dofollow.
If you are trying to build up traffic to a website, quality blog commenting should certainly be a part of your strategy. As should being involved with forums, getting listed in quality directories, exchanging in-content (ie meaningful) links, being involved on social sites, submitting quality articles to directories like ezinearticles, etc. To that end, I’m always looking to exchange permanent links that are in content (not just in a link directory with 10,000 links on a page) so let me know if you would like to do that too!
