Top Ten Online MLM Strategies

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Here are the top ten strategies for growing your online MLM business:

  1. I’m not being facetious here, but have a strategy. You need to work with your sponsor, or active upline, to form a game plan for you. This plan should cover both the education and training that you’ll need, as well as a weekly action plan based on your income goals and time/ money to invest. (Note: If they tell you to call everyone you know, talk to anyone you come in contact with and try to get them to a “party”, or to just “buy more leads”…… DON’T. Come and see me, I’ll help you formulate a plan.)

  1. Do you have a clear vision of what you want? A vision is inspiring, it makes you want to jump up in the morning and run circles around your to do list. A particular income goal is really just a number. It provides a needed target, but it is NOT inspiring in and of itself. Remember, when imagination and will-power collide, imagination always wins out.

  1. You need to feed your mind positive input, every day. It is all too easy to get down. Affirmations are a great tool, but having a “mind movie” is even stronger. Take images, movie clips, and inspiring words, add it into a PowerPoint, and record the presentation online. Play your favorite song, and watch it every morning and every night. Gets all your senses fired up. If you aren’t sure how to do that or don’t have the equipment, e-mail me and I can help make one for you.

  1. Learn your product line and how it benefits people, specifically, how your products (or their effects) will make people FEEL.

  1. You need to be able to generate your own “leads”, no question about it. There are ways to do it online using funded proposals that allow you to generate them at no net cost. I can help you with that too, if you need it.

  1. Become a student of psychology. Learn exactly how to talk to people to communicate effectively, sort out people who aren’t right for your business quickly, and lead those who ARE right. Remember, possibly even greater than the monetary benefit of being involved with MLM is the personal development that comes with the business. I would recommend Mark Wieser’s info to get you started in the right direction quickly.

  1. Create a specific online marketing strategy. This will include setting up your website and blog, various paid advertising strategies that you might want to use, various free and seo strategies, and especially now a social marketing strategy. I’m putting together a free report on social media strategies for MLM that you can get at my site, including community publishing, document sharing, social networking, microblogging, social book-marking, and good, “old-fashioned” blogging. (Don’t worry if you don’t even know what some of those things are, I’ll explain it all in my report.)

  1. BE REALISTIC. You probably aren’t going to make $20,000 in your first month. Remember, this is a business that you are starting, and you probably don’t have a lot of the skills YET that you will need to be successful. Enjoy the journey, hold tight to the vision, become a leader, and focus on helping others. Everything else will follow naturally.

  1. Keep an open mind. Give anything that you try a fair, legitimate chance to work. If it is not working, don’t be afraid to move on. Don’t follow your upline like a blind robot, take their advice, but think for yourself too.

  1. Have fun! If you aren’t having fun, you are doing something wrong. Just like physical pain is a signal to our body that something is wrong, not enjoying or even dreading your business activity is a sign that something is wrong. We all get down at times, but if you are down much of the time, take a break, re-group, focus on your vision, and then jump back into the game with your head on straight.
